The Rotary Club of St. Martin Sunset successfully hosted its homeownership seminar, “Unlocking Home Ownership: From Dream to Deed,” on February 26th, 2026.

The community-focused event brought together key stakeholders in the home-buying process, including banks, real estate professionals, the Kadaster, notaries, and construction companies, to provide residents with practical guidance on purchasing and building property in Sint Maarten.

As part of the evening’s program, the Orco Bank Team delivered a financial information and mortgage education segment aimed at helping aspiring homeowners better understand the financing process.

Merle Richardson, Retail Manager for Orco Bank Sint Maarten, presented a concise overview on financial readiness and mortgage fundamentals, followed by a Question & Answer session, where attendees received direct guidance on qualification requirements, documentation, and responsible borrowing. Merle Richardson highlighted the importance of financial literacy in the homeownership journey:

“Understanding the financial side of homeownership is essential. By providing clear mortgage education and practical financial information, we help individuals approach the process with greater confidence and clarity.”
