Instant Payments
The Central Bank of Curaçao and St. Maarten (CBCS) will introduce Instant Payments Clearing & Settlement system (IP CMS) soon. This means that a major part of the interbank payments in and between Curaçao and Sint Maarten will soon be processed within a few seconds, 24/7/365. This will also be the case for interbank payments between banks in Bonaire. The instant payment transactions will be handled in Antillean Guilder and US Dollar.
The introduction of the new IP CMS is an important step towards innovating the payment infrastructure in Curaçao, Bonaire & St. Maarten. The IP CSM will be fully compliant with international payments standards and elevates the payment infrastructure on the islands to a higher level with the prevailing international best practices.

Please note that the above mentioned is only applicable if the receiving local bank is also able to process the received payment instruction immediately.
What do you need to consider?
- Correct Account Number. Please make sure you use the correct account number for each transfer. Payments with incorrect account numbers are automatically rejected. Orco Bank’s account numbers consist of 10 digits, without dots, dashes, or any other symbols.
- Large Amounts. For large amounts there might be a delay in processing the transfer.
